Digital Accessibility

Our Commitment to Digital Accessibility

The Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardener Association, in alignment with the Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE), is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

We are actively working and improving to align our web presence with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards to ensure our programming, community resources, and horticultural education are accessible to everyone.

Measures to Support Accessibility

To maintain a high standard of digital accessibility, we employ the following strategies:

Simplified Architecture

We intentionally maintain a minimalist web presence, focusing on essential organizational information and core local event schedules to minimize technical barriers.

Semantic Code and Spacing

Our design utilizes maximum color contrast (black text on a pure white background), explicit heading structures, and touch-target spacing optimized for mobile and assistive technology users.

Direct Extension Integration

For deep technical horticultural data and publications, we actively link directly to the centralized, university-managed infrastructure of Virginia Tech, ensuring our users have access to fully compliant enterprise materials.

Feedback and Contact Information

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website.

If you encounter any digital barriers, accessibility issues, or need help accessing any information on this site, please contact us directly:

Email: nsvmganews@gmail.com

Address: Virginia Cooperative Extension Office, 107 North Kent Street, Winchester, VA 22601
