Kids At Work – by EMG LynnJunior master gardeners were at the Children's Garden at Ft. Collier Historic Site in Winchester on July 28 harvesting beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers, as well as cabbage for the Congregational Community Action Project’s food pantry. The marigolds they had planted to attract garden pollinators and repel pests are in full bloom. Extension Master Gardeners Tricia, Lynn, and Karen, along with 4-H Specialist Tammy, helped the students create birdhouses out of gourds to encourage pollinators to nest around their own homes. ...
